JICA Delegation Visits CAIAG as Part of Disaster Risk Reduction Survey in Central Asia

On July 4 and 7, 2025, the Central-Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG) welcomed representatives of a Japanese delegation conducting a data collection study on disaster risk reduction in Central Asia. The study is commissioned by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

During the visit, the parties discussed issues related to the assessment and monitoring of natural hazards in the region. The guests were provided with information and materials related to CAIAG’s scientific research in this field.

Particular attention was given to knowledge exchange and the strengthening of international cooperation aimed at increasing resilience to natural disasters in Central Asia.

The shared materials and discussions will contribute to the ongoing study focused on reducing disaster risks across the region. The visit was part of broader efforts to enhance knowledge sharing and coordination among organizations working in the field of natural hazard assessment and prevention.
