Meeting with Representatives of the Japanese Company Aero Asahi Corporation Held at the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG)
On June 18, 2025, the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG) hosted a meeting with representatives of the Japanese cartographic company Aero Asahi Corporation (AAS), a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation, established in 1957.
The primary purpose of the visit was to explore potential areas of cooperation with organizations engaged in natural hazard monitoring, geographic information systems (GIS), and spatial data management.
During the meeting, Aero Asahi presented its latest technological solutions in the field of spatial data collection and analysis, including airborne laser scanning, mobile mapping systems, and the creation of digital 3D models of infrastructure and terrain. These technologies are widely used for infrastructure planning and operation, as well as for disaster monitoring and response.
The parties discussed the following key areas of potential collaboration:
- monitoring of natural hazards and risks;
- utilization of 3D urban models for emergency response management;
- development of information systems for spatial data analysis.
The meeting provided a platform for the exchange of current knowledge and best practices in spatial data technologies and was held in a professional and constructive atmosphere.
