Caiag Staff Member Sagynbek Satarov Participated in an Internship in Japan

From March 11 to 28, 2026, Sagynbek Satarov, a junior researcher in the Climate, Water, and Geoecology Department of the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences, participated in a research internship program at Niigata University.

The internship was organized at the invitation of Chiyuki Narama, professor in the Program of Field Research in the Environmental Sciences at the Faculty of Science.

The internship program included studying modern field and remote methods in glaciology and glacial lake monitoring. According to Sagynbek Satarov, his new knowledge and skills "will be used in future research activities." He conducts research on water resources, glacial lakes, limnology, and glaciology.

Sagynbek Satarov's international internship also provided an opportunity to share experiences with colleagues and discuss areas of collaboration.
