Development of public relations

CAIAG constantly carries out its cooperation with national partners, moving to the level of practical implementation of joint plans.

In order to effectively work on seismic monitoring and analysis of earthquake data it signed an agreement on the delimitation of functions of the Institute of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. The main condition of this agreement is a long-term basis to permanent data interchange (about seismicity and strong earthquakes occurred movements) in real time, which ultimately will provide more efficient service to ensure the safety of the entire community. It was decided that CAIAG will focus its activities on the monitoring of movement of strong, early warning and rapid response, and the Institute of Seismology is the standard seismic monitoring and research. In the event of earthquakes Seismology Institute is responsible for an urgent report on the emergency to end users and MES.

Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic is the main partner, interested in obtaining scientific results of the Institute. Employees CAIAG available on request MOE data from seismic stations are assessing the effects of natural disasters on the ground. Annually employees CAIAG develop and submit to the forecast of the expected material most common hazardous processes and phenomena in the Kyrgyz Republic for further publication in the Yearbook of MES "Book forecasts emergencies."

CAIAG continues to cooperate with the structural units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. State Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Kyrgyz Republic is the local partner in the regional project "Water in Central Asia". In this project, a contract for the performance of certain activities and the provision of meteorological data on the basin of the Syr Darya River.

CAIAG liaises with educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan. CAIAG provides a base for the practical training of students of specialized universities. Each year, students have practice KSUCTA in areas of GIS and surveying, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU) the directions meteorology and climate, forecasting and disaster prevention, KNTU geodynamics and geo disasters. For students submitted jobs and connected to the objectives of the current projects departments. Particularly close and successful partnership is developing with the Kyrgyz Center for GIS Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport and Architecture (KSUCTA). In the consortium, as well as on a contract basis are carried out joint activities in the field of GIS.

In 2011 CAIAG provided an opportunity for the passage of international internships for foreign students who have participated in the preparation of the Summer School project LUCA.

In 2015, the expected arrival of a student from the University of Freiburg (Germany) to conduct research on the study of the capacity of local communities and the development of urbanization.

Civil Protection of the Kyrgyz Republic, CAIAG involved in the discussion of issues and performance of public authorities, international organizations and NGOs in the field of disaster risk management in Kyrgyzstan.

Also, in 2015 the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG) and the Faculty of International Relations of Osh State University (Osh State University) established the General Agreement, to promote cooperation in the field of education and science.
