| | The Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences is an independent non-profit organization, founded in 2002 on the basis of a cooperation agreement between the Government of Kyrgyzstan and the German GeoForschungsZentrum, Potsdam. The Institute is managed by a bilateral directorate (a Kyrgyz and a German Co-Directors) and supervised by a Kyrgyz-German Board of Trustees and an International Scientific Council. |
The main purpose of CAIAG is assistance in carrying out of researches in the field of geosciences. The main direction is determined by the following themes: Along with this the CAIAG should render a technical infrastructure for management and processing of information, and also contributing in preparation and raising the level of scientists' skills. For achievement of targets and tasks the CAIAG will undertake the following kinds of activity: -
Cooperation with the organizations of the Kyrgyz Republic and Federal Republic of Germany, as well as with foreign, especially with Central-Asian and European organizations on contract basis; -
Publication of results of researches. |
